Villa De Ruggiero e Museo delle Arti Applicate

Villa De Ruggiero, situated in the village of San Pietro, is a 19th-century residence in the neoclassical style, built between 1810 and 1831 along the old State Road of the Two Sicilies. Over time, the building has undergone transformations, and today the historic structure is complemented by contemporary architecture in glass and steel.

The villa houses the Museum of Applied Arts, a collection formed from donations that documents the rich artisanal and artistic tradition of the province of Salerno between the 19th and 20th centuries. Ceramics, textiles, batik, posters, sculptures and artefacts tell the story of a region characterised by vibrant cultural exchanges, thanks in part to the presence of Italian and foreign artists.

Today, Villa De Ruggiero stands as a place of dialogue between historic architecture and applied creativity, a guardian of the cultural identity of the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese region.
